Eric performs Mozart Concerto No. 3 and Sarasate Introduction & Tarantella with Maestro Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra at BALUARTE in Pamplona, Spain on January 24, 2017.
Review: "Eric Silberger gave a blazing Sarasate, accurate as few, with sufficient depth in the long arc of the introduction, a downright beautiful sound, and a brave virtuosity, even in the pizzicato, where everything was heard. Sound volume and romantic nuance - with vibrato - prevailed in the concert of Mozart, but also transparency and clarity. A Mozart unusual today, but no less valid."

El Mundo: "Indeed, it is through a Guadagnini and hands of Silberger. So what do you say? An acoustic delight, true ambrosia that dazzles the senses.... I will be concise. A lesson of virtuosity and expressiveness that culminated in the colossal "Presto agitato" final... And to finish, we did not miss the encores: two pieces of Paganini (Moto Perpetuo and Capriccio no. 24) and the famous Manuel Ponce Estrellita."

Before the day of the performance, Silberger commented: "I look forward to playing in one of nature's most amazing wonders and I expect it will have amazing acoustics as well. This will be the first time a violinist has performed there in history, and is probably the first musical performance ever to take place inside a volcano."
